Michael concentrates his practice on real estate transactions and development. In the course of his career, Michael has represented lenders, land developers, home builders and property owners in the financing, acquisition, development and sale of properties throughout Florida. His experience includes negotiating, structuring and closing transactional matters related to residential and commercial real estate development projects.
Michael also routinely handles real estate related litigation matters. He regularly represents insured parties and underwriters for major title insurance companies in cases involving insurance claims related to title disputes and title defense, priority of liens, coverage issues, and agent defalcation.
In addition to his real estate practice, Michael also advises closely held companies in the areas of general business law, corporate law, entity formation and business-related disputes. He has also represented and assisted borrowers in analyzing and negotiating workout alternatives for troubled loans and has handled various eminent domain matters for condemning authorities.
Prior to joining Petitt Worrell, Michael was a Shareholder and Associate at Smolker Bartlett Schlosser Loeb & Hinds, P.A. (f/k/a Bricklemyer Smolker & Bolves, P.A.).
