Jimmie Sparrow has lived in North Central Florida his entire life. Prior to becoming a lawyer, for nearly a decade, Jimmie was a police officer in Marion County, where he worked as both a patrol officer and detective. While working full-time as a police officer, Jimmie earned his B.A in Criminal Justice Administration. After retiring from the police force, Jimmie moved to Virginia to attend the Appalachian School of Law. During law school and for one year after graduation, Jimmie worked for the Buchanan County State Attorney office and prosecuted numerous bench and jury trials. Upon returning to Florida, Jimmie accepted a job at the Fifth Circuit State Attorney Office. In addition to handling traditional criminal investigations and prosecution, Jimmie was assigned to review the actions of law enforcement officers to ensure their actions followed the law. Jimmie participated in internal affairs investigations, grand jury proceedings, and criminal prosecutions of law enforcement. As a result of his experience as a law enforcement officer and prosecutor, Jimmie has independently handled hundreds of investigations and cases.
